Pond evaporation control is the reduction of water transferred from the open surface to the atmosphere. Physical covers address the interface directly; operating, wind, and geometry measures can complement them where a cover is unsuitable or only part of the surface can be managed.

How evaporation-control systems work

When to use a cover

Consider a cover where evaporation is a material component of loss, the pond can accept the selected surface system, and installation and inspection can be performed safely. Water use, chemistry, wind, ice, debris, inlets, outlets, and level variation belong in the specification.

Floating cover vs operating changes
